Philippe Parreno's 'Voices' Opens February 28 at the Leeum Museum of Art in Seoul
As the first exhibition starting in 2024, Leeum Museum of Art will host Korea's first large-scale solo exhibition, Voices, by artist Philippe Parreno. Philippe Parreno has been exploring the relationship between time and memory, perception and experience, and the audience and art while experimenting with ways to approach artworks and exhibitions. He proposes the exhibition as a place of experience rather than an event where individual works are collected and presented.
This exhibition features major works, including the artist's early works from the 1990s, produced in various media such as video, sound, sculpture, and drawing, in collaboration with various experts such as graphic designers, photographers, musicians, linguists, sound experts, and actors, and Leeum. We present a new large-scale outdoor work supported by the museum. The exhibition moves away from the object-centered view of art and questions the interaction between art and the audience, the relationship between the work and the inside and outside of the space, and even the way and attitude of viewing the exhibition.
